Early afternoon, we have brought the good weather to the Andalsnes area, and our home for two nights, the oldest hotel in Norway. Mike looks like has just collapsed to drink in the sunshine.

The view from the front lawn.

Since I was riding shotgun again, it was my job to occasionally take photos through the windshield.

Boy, we just can't believe the weather. So far, we have been pretty lucky on this trip.

So we have driven up into Vengedalen, where we are going to take a short scramble up to a great viewpoint of the Troll Wall. The hike itself is called Litlfjellet (the little mountain).

We are walking the road to the start of the trail. We are headed to the saddle on the ridge, to the right of center. It looks just like a hop, skip, and a jump. Well, there will be some of that.

Anne, our chief guide, telling us about the short hike. The climb is only about 700 - 800 feet from the car park.

OK, so the "trail" is a bit primitive, which is just fine with Susie.

Looking back down the valley as we climb.

Part of the group is making their way up thru the rocks.

Susie loves to scramble, even if it results in a lot of "butt shots" being taken of her.

Roger is coming closer.

The Troll Wall. A very sharp ridge with lots of small peaks.

Near the top, with a small cairn marking the route.

All of us on top. Obviously, a few conversations going on.

Some views from the saddle.

Someone wanted to take our photo again, so we thought, well, perhaps another choice to have for the Christmas letter. (Note all the tiny peaks in the ridge behind us.)
NOR_1442_SX40_IMG_6538-18.jpg
Someone noticed a sky diver (or base jumper?) coming down.

To say the ridge on the west side of the saddle is steep is an understatement, but it provides a lovely view of the valley leading toward Andalsnes

Coming back down.
NOR_1464_SX40_IMG_6557-21.jpg
A lovely creek on the floor of the valley.

Hey, just because we traveled over half the day, and hiked this afternoon, does not mean we are excused from Yoga Practice. Our younger guide Anna, besides being an architect, is also a yoga instructor. Time for Down Dog.
NOR_1480_340HS_IMG_6620-23.jpg
Just think: we were on the saddle behind the tree in the center just a couple of hours ago.

Finally, Wine o' clock.
